Step Recorder is a tool introduced by Microsoft starting with the Windows 7 operating system product where this tool can be used to record the steps in reproducing a problem.
Maybe for some people, these applications and features are still quite unfamiliar because they are rarely accessed and used, but for users who often make tutorials, Step Recorder is quite useful to use.
Now regarding this, if you don’t really like this feature because it is rarely opened and used, you can deactivate Step Recorder very easily. Immediately, here are the short steps.
How to Disable Step Recorder in Windows 10
Step 1. First, open the Local Group Policy Editor and go to computer configuration then administrative templates and continue windows components then application compatibility. look at the example below.
Step 2. Next, please right click> Edit on Turn off Steps Recorder.
And the process of disabling step recorder is complete, if you have done the above steps and you have saved it by clicking OK as I showed, then the Steps Recorder application is no longer usable, please try clicking and opening it, then the application will not give any response.
Alternative Steps
The steps above only apply to you Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise and Educations users, while for the Home version, you have to configure the above via the Registry Editor because once again gpedit.msc is only available in the Pro version or above.
Step 1. Please open the Registry Editor.
Step 2. Next, please navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows
Next, please create a new key on the Windows key, exactly as shown above (right click on Windows> New> Key, then name it AppCompat)
Finally, please create a DWORD (32-bit) Value in the AppCompat.
Then please name it DisableUAR and change the Value in it to 1.
Just like the first step at the beginning of the article, with this Step Recorder will not be able to be opened and is already in the Off position.
Very easy, right? please try guys, hope it’s useful Thank you.
