Although generally the IP address has been assigned automatically using the DHCP Server provided by either the Modem or Router, but sometimes we want to set the IP with a numbering that is easier for us to remember, namely by using a Static IP.

In Windows 7, 8 or 10, we can still use the Control Panel to manage this, we can even use the Settings application which is already available in Windows 10. So what if it’s in Windows 11? So about this, on this occasion we will summarize the short steps on How to Set a Static IP in Windows 11, and here are the steps.

Step 1. First, please open Settings > Network & Internet.

Step 2. Then please specify the Network Interface you are using, here since I use Ethernet, then I choose Ethernet which is already connected to the network (exactly as in the picture above), in some cases if the DHCP server is not activated, then the WiFi or Ethernet icon will display the status (exclamation mark) or display Unidentified network information as shown below, which indicates that our device is not connected properly or there is a problem.

Step 3. After you determine the Network Interface you are using, then please click on the IP Address section, then please click Edit > Set from Automatic (DHCP) to Manual.

Step 4. Please enable IPv4 and adjust the IP Address to what you need, for example as shown in the following image.

Step 5. Make sure that the IP Address you enter is in accordance with the network you have, if it is finished, please click save and you are done.
