What is Wordle?
Wordle is an online word guessing game. Slightly different from other types of games, Wordle can only be played once a day. Every day, Wordle will release a word in English that the players have to guess. You are given 6 chances to guess the word.
Wordle was created by Josh Wardle, a software engineer who now lives in Brooklyn, New York. Reported by The New York Times, Josh made this game for his wife who likes to play guessing games.
Initially, Wordle was only played by the couple. After a few months, they decided to share it with their relatives via WhatsApp groups until finally Wordle became a new obsession in their extended family.
Wordle was first released to the public in November 2021 with a total of 90 players per day, skyrocketing to 300,000 players in early January 2022. Then, reported by NPR, Wardle revealed that the total player in mid-January had reached 2.7 million.
